Colonic Hydrotherapy can improve these problems. The colon is a major part of the excretory system, responsible for eliminating food and other body wastes, protecting us from infection and disease. It contains a flora of billions of microscopic organisms, which can be composed of friendly and unfriendly bacteria, unfortunately with today's life style of processed foods, which tend to be high in sugars, the balance is often offset. Hydrotherapy can assist by rebalancing the system allowing friendly bacteria to flourish. Probiotic supplements can be taken to assist the regeneration of a healthy digestive system. |

The Colonic hydrotherapy is performed by Mary Berry, a Senior Staff Nurse who also works as a specialist nurse on a haematology ward, which involves in the care of patients with blood related diseases and is a trained chemotherapy nurse. She has worked in the nursing profession for almost thirty years, and has had a long-term interest in complementary therapies. She has been a qualified reflexologist since 1996 and is also a Reiki Healer. She is a qualified and registered Colon Hydrotherapist with I-ACT, The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy. |

Mary has lived in the Ashford area all her life and is a family orientated person who has four children. She realised the need for this therapy in Ashford, and as a result has opened a clinic in Willesborough to enable to provide this service. |

Colonic hydrotherapy is a totally clean, and hygienic procedure with no odour or embarrassment. It is not painful, however, the nature of the procedure may feel slightly uncomfortable to begin with, it is nevertheless, often viewed as a pleasant and relaxing experience. The modern internationally used apparatus, which is used at this clinic contains valves to prevent wastewater from returning to the water system or the client. In addition all equipment used comes in pre-sealed packs, which are disposable to avoid and cross contamination. |

It is considered that a course of treatments are more beneficial and can be discussed and arranged at a time to suit the individual. The initial appointment will take approximately 1 hour and 30 mins, allowing for a preliminary consultation. The Colonic session will last 40-50 mins and the client has the constant attention of the therapist at all times. Reflexology treatments last approximately 1 hour. |
